Israela Oron and David Hartman, 2015 Israel Election Special Introduction
This show features a recent interview with Israela Oron who was involved with the Herzog-Livni campaign in the 2015 Israeli Election. Brigadier General (Ret.) Israela Oron is an analyst and commentator on security and strategic affairs with special expertise on the Palestinian refugee issue. General Oron has had a lengthy and distinguished military career. She joined the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the 1970s and served in various key positions. In 1991, she became the first woman appointed as IDF deputy spokesman, and served in this position throughout the Persian Gulf War.
Then the program shifts to an interview Leon Charney conducted with Rabbi David Hartman of The Hartman Institute. David Hartman (September 11, 1931 – February 10, 2013) was an American-Israeli leader and philosopher of contemporary Judaism, founder of the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, Israel, and a Jewish author.
